Sauna and the 680 nm Infrared Light Spectrum

I’ve said many times before “if I could only have one health tool to use for the rest of my life it would be a sauna”. Here at Sonora Massage a very modern version of a sauna exists. Using infrared to penetrate the bodies tissues and heat more internally than the surrounding air like a traditional sauna it can be a place of not only relaxation but a tool to aid in either bodywork or nutrition.

I have been using all types of saunas for about 20 years everything from a sweat lodge to an infrared. exposing your body to extreme heat does a couple of things that you can’t get any other way. One it creates heat shock proteins that assist in your bodies amino acid folding into complex protein structures. This allows protein synthesis to be carried out in a healthy way rather than having the amino acids not attach to cell receptors due to improper folding into the correct structure. Two, it aids in cardiovascular health and metabolic flexibility. Combined with the infrared light panel that has both near and far infrared light it allows for greater cellular response for things such as fat conversion from white to brown fat which is easier to burn off and reduced inflammatory markers.

It was always my goal to create environments at Sonora Massage that can help your own bodies healing process. A sauna fits that bill, either for bodywork or nutrition counseling. I opened Sonora Massage so that people having trouble with physical limitations, such as low back pain, frozen shoulder, or dietary and nutrition issues could come in and begin the process of unpacking what is happening in their body.

If you’re looking to address nutrition related problems or just want a good massage and to take a break from the stress of everyday life, don’t hesitate to come into Sonora Massage. Take advantage of the sauna and the infrared light panel those two things alone are beneficial, and if you’re looking to go deeper into addressing diet related symptoms or physical ailments I’m more than happy to help.
